These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Ask Bob's platform and services. By using our service, you agree to these terms.
1. Service Description
Ask Bob provides an AI-powered customer service chatbot platform that:
- Creates and hosts intelligent chatbots for your business
- Learns from your business data to provide accurate customer support
- Integrates with your existing business systems (Shopify, Zendesk, Stripe, etc.)
- Provides real-time analytics, monitoring, and insights
- Supports multi-tenant architecture for enterprise deployments
- Offers embeddable chat widgets with customizable branding
2. Account Registration & Access
To use our service, you must:
- Provide accurate and complete registration information
- Be at least 18 years old or have parental consent
- Maintain the security and confidentiality of your account credentials
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
2A. Authority, identity, and impersonation
By creating or managing an Office, you represent that you are authorized to create and manage this Office for the named business or operation. You agree not to impersonate another business or misrepresent affiliation with a business you do not have the right to represent.
We do not independently verify legal identity or ownership of the business named in your Office. Confirming Office setup is not a warranty that you are the legal owner of that business.
You are responsible for what Bob says, sends, and says on telephone calls as your agent, including statements made to your customers.
If we receive notice that an Office is impersonating another business or infringing a trademark, we may freeze or terminate that Office, including telephone numbers and website widgets, and we may preserve records of your authorization attestation.
3. Subscription Plans & Billing
Free Trial: We offer a free trial period with limited usage. No payment information required.
Paid Plans: Subscription fees are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis.
Usage-Based Charges: Additional charges may apply for usage exceeding plan limits.
Payment: All fees are non-refundable except as required by law.
Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.
AI Credits: Each month you are granted your plan’s AI credits. Unused credits stay on your account and add up. Each grant expires 90 days after it is issued. Credits are usage units, not cash, and are not refunded. Annual plans receive one month’s credits on each monthly anniversary. Cancelling stops new grants; credits already granted stay usable until each grant’s own expiry date.
4. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree NOT to use our service to:
- Violate any laws, regulations, or third-party rights
- Transmit harmful, offensive, or illegal content
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Interfere with other users' access to the service
- Use the service for spam, phishing, or other malicious activities
- Impersonate another business or misrepresent that you are authorized to act for it
- Reverse engineer, modify, or create derivative works
- Resell or redistribute our service without permission
5. Content & Data
Your Content: You retain ownership of all data and content you provide to our service.
License to Use: You grant us a license to use your content solely to provide our services.
Data Training: With your explicit consent, we may use your business data to train and improve your chatbot's responses. You can revoke learning consent at any time.
PII Protection: Personal data in learning pipelines is automatically redacted before storage.
Prohibited Content: You may not upload illegal, harmful, or infringing content.
5A. Third-Party Integrations
When you connect third-party services to Ask Bob:
- Authorization: You authorize us to access and process data from connected services on your behalf
- OAuth Tokens: Connection credentials are encrypted and can be revoked at any time
- Webhooks: We verify webhook signatures and reject invalid/replayed events
- Learning Consent: You control whether data from integrations is used for learning
- Third-Party Terms: Your use of integrated services is also governed by their terms of service
- Kill Switch: We can disable integrations immediately if security issues arise
Available integrations include: Shopify, Zendesk, Stripe, Slack, GitHub, and more. Integration availability varies by plan.
6. Intellectual Property
Ask Bob retains all rights to:
- The platform software and technology
- Our trademarks, logos, and brand materials
- Aggregated and anonymized usage data
- Improvements and enhancements to our service
7. Service Availability & Support
Service Availability: We strive for high availability of production services. Enterprise plans may include SLA credits based on negotiated terms.
Maintenance: Scheduled maintenance windows are announced 48 hours in advance. Emergency security patches may be deployed immediately.
Support: Customer support is provided via email, chat, and help documentation. Enterprise plans include priority support with defined response times.
Updates: We continuously improve our service. Breaking changes are announced with migration guidance.
Monitoring: Real-time system status is available at our status page. Prometheus metrics available for enterprise customers.
8. Privacy & Data Protection
Our collection and use of your data is governed by our Privacy Policy. Key points:
- We protect your data with security measures including encryption at rest and in transit, and tenant isolation. These are operating practices, not a contractual warranty of a particular certification or outcome.
- We do not sell your personal information to third parties
- You can request data deletion or export. We aim to complete Data Subject Access Requests within 30 days where required by law.

- Multi-tenant isolation ensures your data is never accessible to other customers
- Audit logs track all data access for compliance purposes

9. Termination
By You: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings.
By Us: We may terminate accounts for violations of these terms or non-payment.
Effect of Termination: Upon termination:
- Your access to the service ends. If you cancel, however, AI credits already granted remain usable until each grant’s own expiry date (no new grants are issued; unused credits are not refunded). If we terminate your account for a violation of these terms, access ends immediately.
- Your data will be deleted after a grace period
- Outstanding payments remain due
10. Disclaimers & Limitations
Service "As Is": Our service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
No Guarantees: We do not guarantee specific results from using our AI chatbots.
Limitation of Liability: Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service.
Force Majeure: We are not liable for delays due to circumstances beyond our control.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Ask Bob harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:
- Your use of our service
- Your violation of these terms
- Content you provide to the service
- Your violation of any third-party rights
- Impersonation, unauthorized Office setup, or claims arising from Bob speaking as your agent
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service periodically. Changes will be effective upon posting unless otherwise specified. We will notify users of significant changes via email or platform notification.
Your continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
13. Governing Law & Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved through:
- First: Good faith negotiation
- Second: Binding arbitration if negotiation fails
- Exception: Claims for injunctive relief may be brought in court

15. Severability
